Fees paid to ELS are not refundable except in the circumstances set out in items 2 – 5 below. Refund requests must be made to ELS in writing are subject to the following conditions:

  1. All administrative fees are non-refundable. These include: Application Fee, Registration Fee, Placement Test Fee, Visa Processing Fee, Airport Clearance & Pickup Fee and EMGS Fee.
  2. Cancellation 14 days or more before the course commencement date: ELS will impose a charge of 4 weeks’ worth of Course Fees (inclusive of Tuition Fee, Assessment Fee, Resource Fee, Books & Materials Fee) and an Administrative Fee of RM 300 (about USD 80).
  3. Cancellation less than 14 days before the course commencement date: ELS will impose a charge of 8 weeks’ worth of Course Fees (inclusive of Tuition Fee, Assessment Fee, Resource Fee, Books & Materials Fee) and an Administrative Fee of RM 300 (about USD 80).
  4. Cancellation after the course commencement date: There shall be no refund of fees paid. However, if the reason for cancellation is a serious illness that can be proven by a valid medical report, ELS will consider a pro-rated refund of Course Fees (inclusive of Tuition Fee, Assessment Fee, Resource Fee, Books & Materials Fee), minus an Administrative Fee of RM 300 (about USD 80). The pro-rated refund will be calculated based on the number of 4-week sessions enrolled.
  5. Cancellation when the student visa application is rejected after full payment of ELS fees: ELS will consider a pro-rated refund of Course Fees (inclusive of Tuition Fee, Assessment Fee, Resource Fee, Books & Materials Fee), minus an Administrative Fee of RM 300 (about USD 80). The pro-rated refund will be calculated based on the number of 4-week sessions enrolled.
  6. In all cases of suspension and expulsion from ELS due to noncompliance with the ELS Student Code of Conduct, there shall be no refund of fees paid. 
  7. Students whose visas are cancelled because of unsatisfactory attendance are not entitled to any refunds.
  8. Refunds are not transferable and will be made to the original payers only i.e. the student.
  9. Refunds will be made within 14 business days from the refund application date unless delayed by banking and regulatory issues or other unforeseen circumstances.
     

Special considerations due to COVID-19:

Students in ELS in-person classes who tested positive for COVID-19 are eligible to:

  • Attend their classes remotely throughout the quarantine period. This option is open to students who are asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic.
  • Defer their studies to the following session, especially if they present moderate to severe symptoms.

Students may submit screenshots of their MySejahtera profile and Home Surveillance Order to ELS in place of a medical certificate/ report.
