Since we began in 1990, over 120,000 students from 143 countries have studied at ELS.

- Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) - ELS’ second on-campus centre, helping even more students gain university access through English.
Recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE)
Our Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) is officially recognised by MOHE as proof of English proficiency for university admission — so students can enter Malaysian universities without IELTS, TOEFL or PTE.

We’ve partnered with top Malaysian universities and provide direct pathways to over 650 universities worldwide, giving students more choices and better futures.

Thirty-five years ago, we founded ELS with a simple yet powerful mission: to help students master the English language and build the confidence they need to succeed. Today, as I reflect on this incredible journey, I am filled with immense pride - not just in how far we've come, but in the lives we've transformed along the way.
From the very beginning, our focus has been on empowering learners, giving them the skills and self-assurance to thrive in a global world. Now, we go even further - our programs not only strengthen English proficiency but also open doors to prestigious universities, earning recognition that helps turn dreams into reality.
This milestone belongs to all of us - our dedicated team, our inspiring students, and our loyal partners. Together, we've created more than just a language school; we've built a community of learners, leaders, and lifelong achievers.

35 Years of Impact: Our Journey Through the Years
From one centre in 1990 to shaping lives across Malaysia and beyond—this is the ELS story.
We don't just teach English—we change lives. For 35 years, ELS has helped generations of students take their first steps toward university, careers, and global opportunities. Here's how it all began:
1990 – The Beginning
We launched Malaysia's first intensive English programme, opening the door for students to learn English with world-class standards—right here at home.
2012 – A National First
Became the first private language centre in Malaysia to operate inside a public university—Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). This historic partnership brought quality English training directly to university students.
2015 – A Seal of Trust
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) officially recognised the CIEP as meeting their English entry requirement. Students could now skip IELTS and enter university through ELS.
2019 – Globally Accredited
ELS became Malaysia's first language institution to be accredited by NEAS, a leading international quality assurance body in English language education.
2020 – Expanding Reach, Deepening Impact
Opened our second on-campus centre at UTM Johor, expanding our reach and giving even more students access to trusted English language education.
2023 – National Recognition
The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) officially recognised ELS's CIEP as a valid benchmark for English proficiency—cementing ELS's status as a national standard.
2025 – Celebrating 35 Years
Today, we celebrate more than just a number.
