Wondering what big ideas we’ll be seeing on the runways this fall? On Friday, April 25, students at ELS Subang Jaya, gave us a sneak peak of the upcoming fashions. This was a much anticipated event as students competed to be crowned Mr. & Miss ELS Subang Jaya 2014. The styles “communicated” that fashion is moving toward an easier, more relaxed directions while resonating seventies silhouettes and the glam of shimmering evening gowns. Contestants were graded in three categories: style, attitude and communication. Each contestant strutted on the catwalk showcasing their best fashions then answered two questions posed by our panel of judges; Ms. Wensan Rasjid, Ms. Yvonne Gruberska, Ms. Teresa Lopez and Ms. Anita Kumari. Mr. Gary Barbour acted as MC for the event. This exciting event was kicked off when students were invited to attend a photo shoot two weeks prior to the Pageant. Over 30 students showed up in their most noteworthy trends to model in front of the camera. Once the pictures were posted, fellow ELS students were asked to go online to “like” or comment on their favorite students. The response was tremendous with over 15,000 “likes” over a two week period. The competition was fierce but finally five men and five women with the most comments were picked to strut their stuff during the Graduation Pageant. Culminating at Graduation, the ten finalists lined up to pose amid cheers from their supporters. The second runners up were Lisa Natalia and Faisal. First runners up were Phyu Phyu Win and Ashraf. The Winners were King Salah and Queen Sepideh. The activity committee consisting of: Mr. Randeep Singh, Mr. Gary Barbour, Ms. Suzanne Goodfellow, Ms. Elena and Ms. Kelvin. A big thank you to everyone that worked tirelessly to make this even a resounding success.
